Transport provider says truck repairs were done incorrectly

WINFIELD — A transport provider is suing Trailer Specialists LLC, a truck repair company, citing alleged breach of contract and negligence.

Bill Rhodes d/b/a TG Rhodes Transport LLC filed a complaint on June 15 in Putnam Circuit Court against Trailer Specialists LLC, alleging that the truck repair company failed to repair a vehicle in a workmanlike manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on October 22, 2015, it delivered a 2004 Freightliner tractor truck to the defendant for repair, for which the plaintiff was billed for a total sum of $14,285.30, including other parts suppliers' charges. Shortly after retrieving the vehicle, the plaintiff's truck began having mechanical problems associated directly with the repairs performed by the defendant. and the faulty repairs necessitated additional repairs in the total amount of $12,995.46, the suit says. Due to repairs, the plaintiff was off the road for 15 days, losing income in the amount of $11,250, plus additional expenses of $1,213.15, the suit alleges. The plaintiff holds Trailer Specialists LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly did repairs in a negligent and unworkmanlike manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the total amount of $39,744.91, representing the additional cost incurred for the repair of the vehicle and the loss of income caused by the negligent repair. It is represented by Walton S. Shepherd, III of Walton S. Shepherd, III in Sissonville.
