Damages sought after accident in Shady Spring

Car accident 28

BECKLEY – A Raleigh County couple alleges a Greenbrier County man caused injures in an accident in Shady Spring.

Shannon Mizia and Jim Mizia filed a complaint on July 15 in the Raleigh Circuit Court against Wesley Redden and Jamey Redden alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 28, 2015, Shannon Mizia was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox on Hinton Road in Shady Spring when defendant Wesley Redden put Jamey Redden's vehicle in reverse and backed into the Mizia's vehicle. The suit states the incident resulted in substantial damage and bodily injury to Shannon Mizia, causing her to suffer medical expenses of $15,137.33 and lost wages of $9,459. The plaintiffs hold Wesley Redden and Jamey Redden responsible because the defendant Wesley Redden allegedly improperly backed the vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants in an amount that the court may deem appropriate, attorney's fees and costs and such other relief as the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Christopher M. Davis of Wooton, Davis, Hussell & Ellis PLLC in Beckley. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John A. Hutchison.
