CHARLESTON — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Dilipkumar Parsotambhai Ghodasara, M.D.; Jacob McNeel, D.O.; Carrie Cashen, R.T.; Brenda Martin, C.R.T.; and Oak Hill Hospital Corp. d/b/a Plateau Medical Center Inc., health care providers, alleging negligence and medical malpractice.

Otis Corder, Jr., administrator of the estate of Sue Ann Corder, filed a complaint on July 6 in Kanawha Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to follow the accepted standard of care not to cause Sue Ann Corder's injuries and death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, beginning on Aug. 14. 2014, Sue Ann Corder was under the care of the defendants. While on mechanical ventilation, she suffered rapid deterioration of her condition, the suit alleges, adding that on Aug. 17, 2014, she was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center. During her stay at CAMC, her condition further deteriorated, resulting in her death on Sept. 3, 2014, the suit claims. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose Sue Ann Corder's condition or properly treat her, failed to interpret results correctly, and failed to provide her with proper medical care, treatment and services.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for all general and special damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief that the court may deem just. He is represented by W. Stewart Calwell, Jr., Malissa H. Luce and Alex D. McLaughlin of The Calwell Practice LLC in Charleston.
