City of East Liverpool, Ohio resident accuses motorist and insurers of negligence
NEW CUMBERLAND — A man is suing Elizabeth S. Beebout, Progressive Insurance company and Anthem Bluecross Blueshield, motorist and insurers, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Michael J. Johnson filed a complaint on July 28, in the Hancock Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they defendant Beebout failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in August 5, 2014, he was operating a pickup truck northbound on Washington School Road in the City of Chester, while defendant Beebout was operating a vehicle in the same direction when she struck the rear of plaintiffs vehicle that was stopped at the traffic. As a result of the accident, plaintiff sustained injuries and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Elizabeth S. Beebout, Progressive Insurance company and Anthem Bluecross Blueshield responsible because defendant Beebout allegedly failed to the assured clear distance ahead, failed to keep proper lookout and operated her vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant Beebout in a sum in excess of $25,000, against defendant Progressive for up to $25,000, attorney's fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other relief as the court deems proper.
