On May 31, 2015, David Crenner was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer on Route 7 in a westward direction that was owned by Scott Crenner, according to a complaint filed Aug. 2 in Monongalia Circuit Court.
Kevin Dennis claims the Crenner vehicle struck him head-on and caused him injuries.
David Crenner was cited by the Morgantown Police Department for hazardous driving and driving left of center, according to the suit.
Dennis claims he suffered a neck injury that required him to utilize an e-collar for approximately one month after the collision and he received treatment for him injuries for months afterward.
On Oct. 16, while on his way to a medical appointment, he was rear-ended by Smother’s 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and the May 2015 accident’s injuries were exacerbated by the second car accident, according to the suit.
Dennis claims through Oct. 16, he incurred approximately $35,600 in medical treatment for injuries from the May 2015 accident and approximately $41,400 in medical treatment after the October accident.
David Crenner and Smothers owed duties to the general public and operated their motor vehicles with due care and maintain control of their vehicles, so as to avoid colliding with any other vehicles, according to the suit.
Dennis claims the defendants breached their duties and collided with his vehicle.
The collisions were caused by the careless, negligent, willful, wanton and/or reckless conduct of David Crenner and Smothers, according to the suit.
Dennis is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Samuel D. Madia of Shaffer Madia Law.
