RIPLEY — Two consumers are suing the manufacturer and dealer of their vehicle, saying it was a lemon.

Brian Jones and Katrina Jones filed a complaint in Jackson Circuit Court against FCA US LLC, I-77 Auto Group Inc. and The Huntington National Bank, alleging they violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 23, 2015, they purchased a 2015 Jeep Renegade. They allege that after the purchase, they discovered nonconformities that substantially impaired the use, value and safety of the vehicle, causing them to suffer monetary loss, emotional distress, aggravation, loss of use and inconvenience. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to repair the vehicle so as to bring it into conformity with the warranties, failed and refused to provide a replacement vehicle and failed to make reimbursement.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek revocation of acceptance, a declaration that defendants' actions violated the law, an award for all damages, penalties, attorneys' fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and any other relief. They are represented by Kristina Thomas Whiteaker and David L. Grubb of The Grubb Law Group in Charleston.
