BECKLEY — A woman is suing a Raleigh County man after a vehicle accident..
Patty R. Metz filed a complaint Aug. 25 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Richard Yearego, alleging that the Raleigh County resident breached his duty to exercise ordinary care to protect the general public.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 30, 2014, she was operating her motor vehicle westbound on County Route 1 near Bradley in Raleigh County when the defendant, who was traveling in the opposite direction, suddenly attempted to turn left and caused a collision. Metz suffered pain, lost wages, physical limitations and medical expenses, she claims. The plaintiff holds Richard Yearego responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently made a left turn when it was not reasonably safe to do so and failed to yield right of way to incoming traffic.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs, expenses and such other relief. She is represented by Robert D. Cline, Jr., Brian E. Bigelow and Jennifer Dempsey Meeteer of Farmer, Cline & Campbell in Beckley.
