HUNTINGTON — A carpenter is suing over a 30-foot fall that he says caused permanent injuries.
Aaron Warren Standifur is suing Capstone Builders LLC, Earl Dwayne Adkins Jr., Tri-State Realty Inc. and Kenneth Eugene Miller, alleging negligence and unsafe work environment. He filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in Cabell Circuit Court against the defendants.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 12, 2014, he was working at the apex of a building when he fell 30 feet to concrete below, causing him to sustain severe and permanent injuries that necessitated surgery and other medical treatments. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible over allegations that there was negligent hiring and retention of the cheapest builder found and for allegedly failing to ensure that adequate safety protections and equipment were being used.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount exceeding the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and all other relief. He is represented by Jack O. Dolance of Dolance Law Office PLLC in Wayne.
