Client alleges Met Life failed to pay for medical treatment

Insurance 02

BECKLEY — A Raleigh County woman is suing Met Life Insurance, alleging failure to pay for medical treatment.

Sherri Armes of Shady Spring, West Virginia, filed a lawsuit Sept. 2 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Met Life Auto & Home Insurance Company, alleging the company breached its contractual duty to pay for a necessary medical treatment.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 23, 2014, Armes was involved in an automobile accident where she sustained injuries that required medical treatment. The suit said she promptly submitted her medical records and medical bills to Met Life for payment.

The plaintiff alleges Met Life refused to pay for the treatment or reimburse Armes for seeking diagnostic and treatment for injuries she sustained in the accident.

Armes seeks trial by jury, judgment for contractual payment of medical expenses and damages, attorney fees and court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all equitable relief of at least $25,000. She is represented by attorney Michael E. Froble of Beckley.
