CHARLESTON — A Fayette County woman is suing a Montgomery retail store operator, alleging its negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Dianne Dorsey filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Dolgencorp LLC, alleging negligence in failing to protect those who are entering and exiting its property.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 31, 2014, Dorsey she was shopping at the Dolgencorp store in Montgomery when she slipped and fell due to a liquid substance on the floor. The suit says the fall caused her to sustain grievous permanent injuries.
The lawsuit states Dorsey has suffered pain, emotional distress, loss of physical ability, emotional and mental distress, annoyance and costs for medical treatment. The plaintiff alleges Dolgencorp failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn Dorsey of the dangerous condition.
Dorsey seeks trial by jury, judgment in an amount to fairly compensate her for all injuries she sustained, plus interest, attorney fees and all court costs. She is represented by attorney Paul S. Perfater of Myers and Perfater in Charleston.
