Patient blames Logan County medical center for injuries

Wheelchair 02

LOGAN — A patient is suing a Logan County hospital, alleging the defendant's negligence led to the plaintiff's injuries.

Joyce Glenn filed a lawsuit Sept. 16 in Logan Circuit Court against Logan General Hospital LLC, doing business as Logan Regional Medical Center, alleging failure to properly keep its property safe for patients.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 17, 2014, Glenn was at Logan Regional Medical Center being transported via a wheelchair when it struck a defect in a portion of a sidewalk. The suit says this caused her to fall, striking her head on the sidewalk and leading to injuries to her head and neck that required medical attention.

The plaintiff alleges Logan Regional Medical Center failed to repair the defective portion of the sidewalk and failed to place warning signs on the dangerous condition.

Glenn seeks trial by jury, judgment that will fully compensate for her injuries and damages, costs of action and pre-judgment interest. She is represented by attorney Donald C. Wandling of Wandling Law Office in Logan.
