FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayette County man is suing tree stand distributor and manufacturer, alleging the defendants' negligence caused the plaintiff to be injured in a fall.

Colton Blevins filed a lawsuit Sept. 19 in Fayette Circuit Court against DOP LLC, doing business as Direct Outdoor Products, and John Doe Corporation, alleging Direct Outdoor negligently placed the defective tree stand in the stream of commerce.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 21, 2014, Blevins fell approximately 20 feet from a tree while using a tree stand manufactured and sold by the defendants. The suit says he sustained serious and permanent injuries including laceration to his abdomen that resulted in medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges John Doe Corp. defectively designed and manufactured the tree stand.

Blevins seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages in such amount allowed by law. He is represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville.
