MOUNDSVILLE — A Marshall County woman is suing a municipality, alleging discrimination, hostile work environment and wrongful termination.

Nancy F. Purtiman filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in Marshall Circuit Court against the city of Glen Dale, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 2, 2014, Purtiman was unlawfully discharged from employment as a dispatcher for an alleged act of misconduct. The suit says Purtiman suffered lost wages and fringe benefits, emotional distress, annoyance and inconvenience.

The plaintiff alleges Glen Dale subjected her to unlawful discrimination, hostile work environment, adverse employment actions and termination due to her age.

Purtiman seeks trial by jury, judgment for all damages, attorney fees and costs of litigation. She is represented by attorney David L. Delk Jr. of Grove, Holmstrand & Delk PLLC in Wheeling.
