WAYNE — A Wayne County woman is suing the city of Ceredo and a city employee, alleging their negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.
Karla Baker filed a lawsuit Oct. 3 in Wayne Circuit Court against the city of Ceredo and Zachary Thompson, alleging Thompson negligently operated a Ceredo motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 24, 2014, Baker was lawfully operating her motor vehicle on Oak Street in Ceredo when Thompson, an employee of the city of Ceredo, negligently ran a red traffic light and struck the plaintiff's vehicle.
The crash, the suit says, resulted in Baker sustaining multiple serious injuries, plus hospital and medical bills and future loss of earnings. The plaintiff alleges Thompson failed to obey a traffic signal device, failed to stop and negligently ran a red traffic light.
Baker seeks trial by jury, judgment in a reasonable amount to compensate for her injuries, plus damages, court costs and pre-judgment interest. She is represented by attorney Bert Ketchum of Greene, Ketchum, Farrell, Bailey & Tweel in Huntington.
