RIPLEY — A Parkersburg regional planner is suing a Ravenswood child development business, alleging breach of contract in a failure to pay more than $181,000.

Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Planning and Development Council filed a lawsuit Oct. 4 in Jackson Circuit Court against Leaps & Bounds Early Childhood Development LLC and Daniel A. Metheny, alleging failure to comply with a loan agreement and promissory note.

According to the complaint, on April 28, 2014, Mid-Ohio Valley loaned to Leap & Bonds the sum of $210,000. To date, the remaining balance of $181,486.50 remains uncollected, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed and refuse to pay their indebtedness on the loan and have been unjustly enriched by not repaying the debt.

Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Planning and Development seeks trial by jury, judgment against both defendants for $128, 658.73, and against Leaps & Bounds for $52,827.77, plus interest, attorney fees, legal costs and all other relief that is proper. It is represented by attorney Leslie L. Maze of Elizabeth.
