PRINCETON – A Bluefield couple alleges a Chrysler vehicle they purchased was defective and seeks a refund of the purchase.

John E. Harris and Deborah L. Harris filed a complaint on Oct. 13 in the Mercer Circuit Court against FCA US LLC and Sheets Automotive Group LLC alleging violation of the Consumer Protection New Motor Vehicle Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 16, 2015, they purchased a new 2015 Chrysler Journey from Sheets Automotive Group. Since the purchase and within the warranty period, the plaintiffs allege they experienced defects on the said vehicle and that such defects substantially impaired its use, value and safety. The plaintiffs hold FCA US LLC and Sheets Automotive Group LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to repair the vehicle in a good and workmanlike manner so as to bring it into conformities with its warranties.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek refund for the value of their trade-in and down payment, including charges and costs incurred; award for damages; attorney fees and costs; and all other relief that the court may deem proper. They are represented by William O. Huffman in Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge William J. Sadler.
