Vehicle owner alleges #1 A LifeSafer of West Virginia caused damage during ignition interlock install

NEW CUMBERLAND – A Weirton man alleges an Charleston company negligently installed a ignition interlock and damaged his vehicle.

Christopher Mihellis filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in Hancock Circuit Court against #1 A LifeSafer of West Virginia alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 3, 2015, he contracted defendant have a LifeSafer ignition interlock installed in his 2013 Lincoln Navigator. On said installment of the device, he alleges his Lincoln Navigator was damaged and that the faulty installment caused numerous problems, such as vehicle dying in transit and a dead battery, making the vehicle unsafe to use.

The plaintiff holds #1 A LifeSafer of West Virginia responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently installed the ignition interlock system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages exceeding $72,500, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and costs, and such other relief that are proper. He is represented by Dean G. Makricostas of Dittmar, Tyalor & Makricostas PLLC in Weirton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jason A. Cuomo.
