Father, son blame Honda, car dealer for injuries

Car accident 14

WHEELING — An Ohio County father and son are suing Honda and a car dealer, alleging defective design of a vehicle.

William Schweizer and Jacob Schweizer filed a lawsuit Oct. 19 in Ohio Circuit Court against American Honda Motor Company Inc. and Raines Imports Inc., alleging breach of implied warranty.

According to the complaint, in 2007, William Schweizer and Jacob Schweizer purchased a new 2007 Honda Odyssey. On Dec. 13, 2014, the suit says, they were traveling in the vehicle when the side curtain airbags suddenly exploded and deployed.

The lawsuit states the plaintiffs sustained permanent injuries and monetary damages. The plaintiffs allege Honda defectively manufactured the vehicle and defendant Raines negligently sold the defective vehicle.

The Schweizers seek trial by jury and all damages to which they may show themselves justly entitled. They are represented by attorney Gail W. Kahle of Wheeling.
