CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County retail shop worker is suing Charleston mall operators, alleging their negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries.

Drema Miller filed a lawsuit Oct. 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court against ABM Parking Services Inc., Charleston Town Centers SPE LLC and Forest City Commercial Management LLC, alleging failure to to provide a safe and secure environment for individuals working at the mall in Charleston.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 13, 2014, Miller, who worked at the retail shop Chico's, sustained severe and permanent injuries when she slipped and fell on a slick substance after disposing boxes into a dumpster in the defendants' parking garage at the Charleston Town Center Mall.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently allowed and permitted the slick substance to remain on the floor, failed to place adequate warnings near the area and failed to properly monitor and clean the parking garage.

Miller seeks trial by jury compensation for her injuries and damages, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs and all other relief as allowed by law. She is represented by attorney Truman C. Griffith of Warner Law Offices PLLC in Charleston.
