Motorist blames electric provider, driver for crash

Car accident 28

POINT PLEASANT — An Ohio motorist is suing an electric company and a driver, alleging their negligence caused a vehicle crash that injured the plaintiff.

Lan S. Le of Zanesville, Ohio, filed a lawsuit Oct. 27 in Mason Circuit Court against Pike Electric Company Inc. and Ricky L. McCoy, alleging Pike Electric negligently entrusted the vehicle to an incompetent driver.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 3, 2014, Le was injured when McCoy, operating a vehicle owned by Pike Electric, negligently overtook the plaintiff's vehicle on Marietta Street in Zanesville. In the process, the suit says, McCoy violently struck Le's vehicle from the driver side, causing the plaintiff to sustain property damage and serious injuries.

The plaintiff alleges McCoy failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle, failed to keep proper speed and failed to observe proper distance.

Le seeks trial by jury, judgment jointly and severally, damages up to $75,000, pre and post-judgment interest and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Quan S. Le of Le Law Offices in Wheeling.
