BECKLEY – A Raleigh County woman has filed suit against a hospital after the death of her sister, alleging it and its staff deviated from an applicable stand of care.

Anita Ingram, as administratrix of the estate of Ramona Moore, filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Raleigh General Hospital LLC and/or Raleigh General Hospital alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 29, 2014, Moore underwent a surgery to remove a uterine mass at Raleigh General Hospital.

The suit states Moore was brought back to her room after three hours and was responsive and moving. Moore was later unresponsive that evening, the suit states, and was placed on a ventilator.

The plaintiff alleges Moore never woke up and ultimately died on Aug. 3, 2014.

The plaintiff holds Raleigh General Hospital LLC and/or Raleigh General Hospital responsible because defendant's medical staff allegedly failed to monitor Moore's medication and left her unattended after her surgery.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for medical and funeral expenses and any other relief deemed just and equitable. She is represented by Michael E. Froble of Froble Law Firm in Beckley.
