HUNTINGTON — An Ohio woman is suing her former employer, alleging disability discrimination, gender discrimination and wrongful discharge.
Katrina Hadley of Lawrence County, Ohio, filed a lawsuit Oct. 25 in Cabell Circuit Court against Stationer's Inc., alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
According to the complaint, due to Hadley's medial condition of neurogenic bladder with a catheter, spina bifida and diabetes, she was required to be absent from work to attend medical appointments. As a result, the suit says she was terminated from work July 27, 2015, because she has too many medical problems, including a hospitalization July 22, 2015.
The plaintiff alleges Stationer's has discriminated against her due to her disability and failed to provide reasonable accommodations for her medical needs.
Hadley seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Amy C. Crossan of Bouchillon, Crossan & Colburn LC in Huntington.
