Man says he slipped on water at Thomas Hospital

Slip01

CHARLESTON – A St. Albans man alleges he was caused to fall because of the negligence of a health care business in Charleston.

Galvester W. Wade filed a complaint on Nov. 3 in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Oct. 10, 2014, he was at the defendant's premises in South Charleston when he slipped and fell due to water that accumulated on the floor. He alleges he was caused to suffer severe bodily injury. The plaintiff holds Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association responsible because the defendant employees allegedly failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award in an amount sufficient to compensate him for his damages, costs for the action and such other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Thomas H. Peyton of Peyton Law Firm PLLC in Nitro. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
