Estate administrator blames health care providers for woman's death

Medical malpractice 07

RIPLEY — A South Charleston woman is suing health care providers, alleging their negligence caused the death of a patient.

Beverly Adams, as administrator of the estate of Darlie Gay Wolfe, filed a lawsuit Nov. 14 in Jackson Circuit Court against Genesis Healthcare LLC, 200 South Ritchie Avenue Operations LLC, doing business as Ravenswood Village, and Tanatha Amos, alleging they breached the applicable standard of care.

According to the complaint, during Wolfe's residency at Ravenswood Village between Nov. 30, 2011-Nov. 29, 2015, she suffered serious injuries and significant destruction to her physical condition, which approximately led to her death Dec. 7, 2015.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to adequately respond, from a pattern of poor care and neglect, failed to monitor Wolfe's health status and failed to conduct appropriate assessment of her condition.

Adams seeks trial by jury, judgment for all damages allowable by law and any other relief the court deems fit. She is represented by attorneys Jonathan R. Mani and Damon Ellis of Mani, Ellis & Layne PLLC in Charleston.
