Medical malpractice 08

CHARLESTON – A former resident at a skilled care nursing facility in Sissonville alleges proper care was not provided.

Alana Eads filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Genesis Healthcare LLC, John Does 1-10, Unidentified Entities 1 to 10 (Cedar Ridge Center) alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 29 and July 19, she was a resident at defendant Cedar Ridge Center's facility in Sissonville when she sustained personal injuries and damages, including but not limited to weight loss, disfigurement, physical and mental pain. The plaintiff holds Genesis Healthcare LLC, John Does 1-10, Unidentified Entities 1 to 10 (Cedar Ridge Center) responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide sufficient staff to meet the needs of the residents and failed to implement adequate guidelines, policies and procedures.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for all damages to be determined by jury, litigation costs, and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by James B. McHugh, Michael Fuller, D. Bryant Chaffin and Kendra R. Fokakis of McHugh Fuller Law Group PLLC in Hattiesburg. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
