WINFIELD – A customer alleges she was injured by liquid left on the floor of a Teays Valley grocery store.
Bonnie Kersey filed a complaint on Dec. 2 in Putnam Circuit Court against Kroger Limited Partnership I alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 13, 2014, she sustained serious and permanent injuries and damages when she slipped and fell while walking at defendant's facility in Teays Valley. The plaintiff holds Kroger Limited Partnership I responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed the dangerous condition to exist in its property, failed to clear the water on the floor and failed to prevent the unsafe condition to exist.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount that will fairly and fully compensate her injuries and damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and such other relief. She is represented by Tammy Bowles Raines of Tammy Bowles Raines Law Office PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
