Employee blames Logan County mall operator for injuries in rockfall

LOGAN — A Logan County woman is suing a local mall operator, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff. 

Kristie R. Hainer filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in Logan Circuit Court against Fountain Place LLC, alleging failure to provide a safe place of employment.

According to the complaint, on March 4, 2015, Hainer was working her job at Roger Hainer Insurance at Fountain Place in Logan when she was injured by a rockfall. As a result, the suit says, Hainer has sustained physical, mental and emotional injuries and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Fountain Place LLC negligently allowed the unsafe work conditions to exist without correction and failed to provide a safe exit from the descending rocks.

Hainer seeks trial by jury, compensation for all damages to be set by the court, attorney fees and court costs. plus all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys J. Michael Ranson and Cynthia M. Ranson of Ranson Law Offices PLLC in Charleston and G. Patrick Jacobs of Charleston.
