Customer blames Kroger for fall in Charleston store

CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman is suing Kroger, alleging the store operators' negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff. 

Margie Redman filed a lawsuit Dec. 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court against The Kroger Company, Kroger Group Cooperative Inc., Kroger Limited Partnership I and Kroger MLT Management LLC, alleging failure to to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, on April 9, Redman was walking through the front door of the Kroger store on Delaware Street in Charleston. The suit says Redman tripped on a flipped-over rug and fell to the ground, causing her injuries, pain and suffering, economic damages and medical expenses for treatment and physical therapy. 

The plaintiff alleges Kroger failed to provide a safe place to walk in the store.

Redman seeks trial by jury, judgment for all damages recognized by law, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and court costs, plus all other proper relief. She is represented by attorney Christopher T. Pritt of Pritt & Pritt PLLC in Charleston.
