CHARLESTON — A husband is suing Charleston health care providers, alleging insufficient measures were taken by the defendants to prevent injuries.

Eldridge Casto, on behalf of Jo Ann Casto, filed a lawsuit Dec. 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Genesis Healthcare LLC, Sunbridge Dunbar Health Care Corp., John Does 1-10, et al, alleging failure failed to discharge their obligations of care to Jo Ann Casto.

According to the complaint, between April 4 and July 31, 2015, Jo Ann Casto was a resident at Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center when she suffered catastrophic personal injuries, extreme pain, weight loss, mental anguish and other damages.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide an adequate and competent skilled nursing staff and failed to meet the total nursing home, medical and physical therapy needs of his wife Jo Ann Casto.

Eldridge Casto seeks trial by jury, compensatory, special and punitive damages in an amount to be determined at trial, costs of suit and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys James B. McHugh, Michael J. Fuller, D, Bryant Chaffin and Kendra R. Fokakis of McHugh Fuller Law Group PLLC in Hattiesburg, Miss.
