CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman is suing a fresh salad distributor, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff.

Lisa D. McDonald filed a complaint Dec. 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court against R. G. Gunnoe Farms LLC, alleging failure to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on April 2, 2015, McDonald was severely injured when her right hand, arm and shoulder became caught in the mixer she was operating at the Gunnoe Farms facility in Charleston. She was caused to suffer pain, mental anguish and medical costs and expenses, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges R. G. Gunnoe Farms failed to comply with the acceptable safety standards applicable in its industry and failed to properly maintain the industrial mixer.

McDonald seeks trial by jury, judgment for all her injuries and damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Robert H. Miller II of The Sutter Law Firm PLLC in Charleston, and by W. Jesse Forbes of Forbes Law Offices PLLC in Charleston.
