Maintenance superintendent accuses employers of age discrimination

LOGAN — A former employee is suing a Rupert mineral business, alleging age discrimination.

Kenneth Morgan filed a lawsuit Dec. 21 in Logan Circuit Court against Greenbrier Minerals Holdings LLC, Greenbrier Minerals LLC and James Campbell, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, when the defendants purchased the coal mining operation at which Morgan had been an employee for nearly 30 years, the plaintiff was terminated from his job as a maintenance superintendent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed and reused to offer and provide him with continued employment.

Morgan seeks trial by jury, judgment against each defendant for all damages, reinstatement, attorney fees and court costs and such other appropriate relief.Morgan is representing himself in this case.
