HUNTINGTON — A Barboursville woman widow is suing truck maintenance providers, alleging their negligence led to the death of her husband.
Lora Rose Farley, as executor of the estate of Ronald David Farley, filed a complaint Dec. 15 in Cabell Circuit Court against Cogan's Garage & Truck Parts Inc., Cogan's Wrecker Service Inc. and River City Tire Inc., alleging they breached their duty to provide proper inspection, testing, repair and maintenance of a truck.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 15, 2014, while Ronald Farley was engaged in his job duties, he has set emergency brakes for a 1997 International 4700 truck. The suit says the truck started to roll downhill and Farley lost his his balance. The lawsuit says Farley fell between the wall and the truck, crushing his internal organs and causing him to suffer severe and agonizing pain until his death Dec. 22, 2014.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to ensure that the truck was in safe and proper working condition.
Lora Rose Farley seeks trial by jury, all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and costs of court, plus all other proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Brett J. Reston and Dan R. Snuffer of Preston & Salango PLLC in Charleston.
