Property owners allege contractors owe more than $26,000

Law money 02

RIPLEY — Two Jackson County property owners are suing contractors, alleging the defendants owe more than $26,000 for breach of contract.

John and Lisa Judge filed a complaint Jan. 13 in Jackson Circuit Court against Alex Kimble, individually and Above it All Home Construction, alleging failure to perform their contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, on June 14, 2016, John and Lisa Judge paid Kimble $26,360 for the repair of their basement wall, and construction of their back yard deck and concrete pad. To date, no work has been performed and no refund has been made, the suit says.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants have failed to perform any work necessary as requested by plaintiffs and have refused and continue to refuse to refund all sums due and owing.

The Judges seek trial by jury, judgment for $26,360, together with interest, costs of court, and all other proper relief. They are represented by attorney Brock D. Stotis of Goodwin & Goodwin LLP in Ripley.
