PRINCETON — Mercer County property owners are suing a Princeton husband and wife, alleging trespassing.

Eric Porterfield and Reddenfoxx Properties LLC filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 in Mercer Circuit Court against Henry D. Hess and Regina Jo Hess, alleging they refused to honor the plaintiffs' request not to block a roadway.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendants' actions, the plaintiffs suffered potential monetary damages of more than $10,000 for the loss of value of their property and for being unable to sell their real estate due to a lack of access. The plaintiffs allege Henry and Regina Jo Hess, beginning in December 2015, prevented access to the road easement across their Mercer County property to the road owned by the plaintiffs and erected barriers to prevent access.

Porterfield and Reddenfoxx Properties seek trial by jury, an order for the defendants not to interfere with plaintiffs' lawful use of the roadway, monetary relief for the loss of value of real estate and loss of income, plus costs of litigation. They are represented by attorney Danny W. Barie of Welch.
