FAYETTEVILLE — An Oak Hill man is suing the manufacturer of a Jeep Cherokee vehicle, alleging breach of express and implied warranties.

Ricky Williams filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Fayette Circuit Court against FCA US LLC, alleging violation of the West Virginia New Motor Vehicle Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 28, 2015, Williams purchased a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk for $37,057 from the defendant's dealer, Dutch Miller Dodge. After purchase, the suit says, Williams experienced repeated problems with the Trail Hawk's quality and workmanship.

As a result of the defendant's poor workmanship, Williams says he suffered substantial impairment in the vehicle's value, use and safety. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to repair the vehicle in a good and workmanlike manner so as to bring it into conformity with its warranties.

Williams seeks trial by jury, revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price, incidental and consequential damages, costs of court and all other necessary relief. He is represented by attorney John N. Ellem of Ellem Law Office in Parkersburg.
