WILLIAMSON — An Ikes Fork nurse is suing Family Healthcare Physicians LLC and Family Healthcare Associates Inc., citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Kimberly Rose filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Mingo County Court against the defendants alleging they exposed others to a high risk of serious injury due to unsafe workplace.

According to the complaint, Rose alleges that on Jan. 21, 2015, while performing her duties as a licensed practical nurse for the defendants, she sat in a broken chair and fell to the concrete floor. As a result, she suffered extreme physical pain, mental anguish and lost of wages and benefits. Rose holds Family Healthcare Physicians and Family Healthcare Associates responsible because they allegedly failed to provide safe conditions in the workplace, exposed her to a high degree of risk and serious injury and violated the state or federal safety statute.

Rose requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants jointly and severally, for such an amount as will be determined by a jury together with all legal fees. She is represented by J. Kristofer Cormany of Cormany Law PLLC in Charleston.
