CHARLESTON — An estate administrator is suing Morgantown health care providers, alleging their negligence contributed to the death of one of their patients.
James A. Gianola, as administrator of the estate of Kathaleen Bolyard, filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Stonerise Healthcare LLC. Morgantown SNF Acquisition LLC, Sonia Gibson, et al, alleging failure to discharge their obligations of care to Bolyard.
According to the complaint, between Aug. 22, 2014 and March 31, 2016, Bolyard was a resident at the defendants' Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing facility in Morgantown. During that time, the suit says, she suffered personal injuries and damages, including pressure sores, weight loss and urinary tract infections. She died March 31, 2016.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide an adequate budget and allocate resources to the facility and failed to adopt and implement adequate guidelines, policies and procedures.
