CHARLESTON — A personal representative is suing a Hinton skilled nursing facility operators, alleging their negligence caused injuries to a resident.
Dianne Gore Johnson, on behalf of Elizabeth Gore, filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court against AMFM LLC, Commercial Holdings Inc., Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, et al, alleging they breached their duty to discharge their obligations of care to Gore.
According to the complaint, between March 6-Sept. 11, 2015, Gore was a resident at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing facility in Hinton, While under the care of defendants, the suit says, the deterioration of Gore's health and physical condition accelerated, resulting in physical and emotional trauma, loss of personal dignity and degradation.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly operate, manage and control Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, failed to allocate resources, failed to implement appropriate policies and procedures and failed to to take corrective actions when problems were brought to their attention.
Johnson seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, plus costs of court, and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorneys from McHugh Fuller Law Group PLLC in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
