Customer blames Wal-Mart shopping plaza operator for injuries

Slip02

WAYNE — A Wayne woman is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence in failing to prevent injuries to the plaintiff.

Mary Davis filed a complaint Jan. 30 in Wayne Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. alleging it failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 29, 2015, Davis entered the Wal-Mart store in Wayne and was getting a shopping cart when she slipped and fell to the floor. The incident, the suit says, caused her to sustain severe injuries all over her body.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart failed to clean up the water and failed to warn her of the existence of the dangerous condition.

Davis seeks trial by jury, judgment in an amount exceeding the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus court costs and interest. She is represented by attorney Donald R. Jarrell of Law Offices of Donald R. Jarrell in Wayne.
