PRINCETON — A Tazewell County automobile owner is suing a Mercer County repair shop, alleging breach of contractual agreement.
James W. Knowles Jr. of Bluefield filed a complaint Feb. 24 in Mercer Circuit Court against Buddy's Body Shop and Teddy Gilpin, alleging they failed to perform their obligations under a contract.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 12, 2016, Knowles entered into a contractual agreement with Buddy's Body Shop for the restoration of his Dodge Demon. He has paid a total of $8,500 for the completion of the project, the suit says.
On Dec. 16, 2016, Knowles said he checked on the statues of the vehicle and observed that the work had not been completed. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to perform the restoration work as agreed and refused to return the plaintiff's $8,500.
Knowles seeks trial by jury, judgment in the amount of $8,500, plus interest, costs of this action and other damages to be determined by jury. He is represented by attorney Brian C, Cochran of Moore, Kersey & Stafford PLLC in Bluefield.
