Motorist blames Pennsylvania company for crash

WHEELING — A Canadian motorist is suing a Pennsylvania business and employee, alleging their negligence caused a vehicle crash.

Melvin G. Martin filed a complaint March 7 in Ohio Circuit Court against Andrew Summerville and M.A.W.G. Inc. of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, alleging M.A.W.G. failed to properly test, train and supervise its employee.

According to the complaint, on March 12, 2015, Martin was traveling in his cargo van on Interstate Highway 70 near milepost 12.5 in Ohio County when Summerville, driving a vehicle owned by his employer, M.A.W.G., negligently slammed the back of his vehicle into Martin's van. The suit says Martin has suffered personal injuries, plus damages to his van and business interests.

The plaintiff alleges Summerville failed to pay attention to the slowing traffic conditions and followed Martin's vehicle too closely.

Martin seeks trial by jury and damages to fairly compensate him for his injuries and financial damages. He is represented by attorney David A. Sims of Law Offices of David A. Sims PLLC in Vienna.
