WILLIAMSON — A Wayne County property owner is suing Farmers Insurance, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Christopher Meddings filed a complaint March 27 in Mingo Circuit Court against Farmers and Mechanical Mutual Insurance Company of West Virginia, alleging failure to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 28, 2016, Meddings' property in Kermit was damaged by fire and was a total lost. Despite full payment of his premiums and proof of loss and damages, Meddings says he has received no coverage payments from Farmers.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant has failed to provide the limit of insurance coverage stated under the policy.

Meddings seeks trial by jury, all damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other relief authorized by law. He is represented by attorney Philip D. Blair of Kirk Law Firm in Paintsville.
