Patient alleges hospital, copy processor failed to provide medical records

HUNTINGTON — A patient is suing a Huntington hospital, alleging breach of duty.

Flora Ellis filed a complaint April 3 in Cabell Circuit Court against Cabell Huntington Hospital Inc. and MRO Corporation, alleging they failed to provide medical records.

According to the complaint, between June 23-July 6, 2016, Ellis was a patient at defendant Cabell Huntington The suit says Ellis' attorney requested the plaintiff's medical record from the hospital and received an invoice from MRO. 

To date, the lawsuit states, Ellis has yet to receive her medical records. The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed and refused to provide copies of Ellis' records as requested.

Ellis seeks trial by jury, an order for the release of the plaintiff's medical records, attorney fees and costs of court. She is represented by attorney Larry O. Ford of Meyer, Ford & Glasser in Charleston.
