Parents accuse motorist of causing crash that led to injuries

HUNTINGTON — Two Barboursville parents are suing a Huntington motorist, alleging the defendant's negligence caused a crash that injured members of the the plaintiffs' family. 

Dreama Kaye Robinson and Teffeney Robinson, as parent and legal guardian of Kya Grace Robinson, filed a complaint April 12 in Cabell Circuit Court against Royale Brown alleging the defendant failed to maintain proper control of her motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 28, 2016, Brown was operating a 20011 Ford Fusion on 16th Street in Huntington when she negligently caused a collision with the vehicle operated by Dreama Robinson in which the minor, Kya Robinson, was a passenger. 

As a result, Dreama and Kya Robinson suffered injuries that resulted in great pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiffs allege Brown failed to have sufficient liability insurance to cover the plaintiffs' damages.

The Robinsons seek trial by jury, judgment against the defendant in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court. plus interest and costs of court. They are represented by attorney Matthew R. Oliver of Vital and Vital LC in Huntington.
