MOUNDSVILLE — A Moundsville couple is suing a motorist, alleging his negligence caused a crash that injured the husband.
Jeffrey S. Anderson and Debby A. Anderson filed a complaint April 13 in Marshall Circuit Court against Derrick V. Thompson, alleging Thompson failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle.
According to the complaint, on April 20, 2015, Jeffrey Anderson was operating a Cadillac hearse owned by Anderson Funeral Home on U.S. Route 250 in Marshall County. The suit says Thompson crossed the center line to avoid colliding with another vehicle and collided with Anderson's vehicle.
The lawsuit says the collision caused Anderson to sustain serious and permanent injuries that resulted in physical and mental pain, medical expenses and loss of income. Debby Anderson says she suffered loss of her husband's society, affection and service. The plaintiffs allege Thompson failed to keep careful lookout.
The Andersons seek a trial by jury, damages sufficient to compensate them, plus interest, court costs and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Andrea C. Poling of Berry, Kessler, Crutchfield, Tyalor & Gordon in Moundsville.
