Motorist blames another drive for injuries in crash

Car accident 24

WHEELING — A Brooke County motorist is suing an employer and another driver, alleging their negligence caused a crash that led to injuries to the plaintiff.

Marylin E. Pavlic of Windsor Heights filed a complaint April 17 in Ohio Circuit Court against Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. and Jeffrey A. Cecil, alleging Cecil negligently violated West Virginia traffic and safety laws.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 3, 2015, Pavlic, in the course and scope of her employment, was operating her motor vehicle on National Road in Wheeling when she was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by Cecil and owned by Safety-Kleen.

The suit says Pavlic sustained injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering and inconvenience. The plaintiff alleges Cecil followed Pavlic's vehicle too closely and failed to maintain control of the vehicle he was driving.

Pavlic seeks trial by jury, judgment, jointly and severally, for compensatory damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Christopher M. Turak of Gold, Khourey & Turak LC in Moundsville.
