Inventory clerk blames employer for injuries

LOGAN — A Cabell County woman is suing her employer, alleging the defendant's negligence led to her falling off a ladder. 

Stacy Harrah of Salt Rock filed a complaint April 21 in Logan Circuit Court against RUE21 Inc. alleging failure to to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on April 22, 2015, Harrah plaintiff was performing her assigned duties as an inventory clerk at te RUE21 store in Logan. The suit says a bar that was being used to hang a heavy amount of clothing fell, throwing Harrah off a ladder and onto the floor below. 

As a result, the lawsuit states, Harrah suffered injuries. The plaintiff alleges RUE21 negligently designed and constructed the shelving used to hold the merchandise and failed to warn Harrah and others using the property of the existence of a dangerous condition.

Harrah seeks trial by jury, compensation for all injuries she sustained, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Paul Perfater of Myers and Perfater in Charleston.
