GRAFTON — A Grafton couple is suing financial services providers, alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Jackie M. Robey and Robert B. Robey filed a complaint April 24 in Preston Circuit Court against First Community Bank and Shaela M. Duckworth, alleging the defendants inflicted emotional distress on the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendants' wrongful conduct, the plaintiffs suffered physical and mental suffering, humiliation, embarrassment, indignities and inconvenience. The plaintiffs allege the defendants performed force debit on the Robeys' account without their knowledge or permission, intentionally charged overdraft fees and improperly blocked money from going into the Robey account.

The Robeys seek trial by jury, fair and reasonable compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest and court costs. They are represented by attorney LaVerne Sweeney of Grafton.
