BECKLEY — A Raleigh County property owner is suing an energy company, alleging violation of state law.

Raleigh Land LLC filed a complaint Feb. 24 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Elemental Resources LLC, Donald R. Reynolds, and Zhen Wang, alleging they falsely claim ownership of the plaintiff's property.

According to the complaint, Raleigh Land was damaged financially because the defendants claim royalty interests for oil and gas to the Raleigh County property based on their tax deeds.

Raleigh Land seeks to declare the title to the oil and gas underlying the real property is quieted, established and confirmed, that tax assessments on the royalty were invalid and erroneous and all tax deeds based thereon are void and of no effect. It is represented by attorney Charles F.W. Saffer of Robinson & McElwee PLLC in Charleston.
