CHARLESTON — A legal guardian is suing housing care providers, alleging negligence in their care for a resident.
Cathy Wallace, as legal guardian of C.S., filed a complaint April 13 in Kanawha Circuit Court against REM-West Virginia LLC, The Mentor Network and Jason Nichols, alleging they failed to supervise and protect C.S.
According to the complaint, C.S. suffered permanent injuries and damages, physical and mental pain, humiliation and embarrassment. The suit says C.S. also became violent and sexually aggressive.
The plaintiff alleges on multiple occasions Nichols requested residents, including C.S., to engage in sexual actions or sexual contacts and that REM and The Mentor Network failed to monitor and supervise their employees.
Wallace seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Guy R. Bucci and Ashley N. Lynch of Hendrickson & Long PLLC in Charleston, and by William O. Huffman of Princeton.
